This guide demonstrates the step-by-step process of installing PADFLASH software, necessary drivers, and connecting the device. (Latest guide on May 2025)
System Requirements
- Operating System:
- Windows 7 64-bit (strongly recommended)
- Windows 10 64-bit (supported)
- Windows 11 (requires additional configuration)
- Hardware Requirements:
- Minimum 4GB RAM
- Minimum 2.5GHz CPU
Installation Steps
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
Go to: https://padflashr.uk
Navigate to the Download section and download the required software and drivers.
Step 2: Access the Download Page
Enter your email address and tool serial number (SN) to access the downloads.
Step 3: Install Patches
- Run the “PATCH INSTALL”
- Install the Super Driver using Administrator Mode.
- Install the Laptop Patch Fix.
- Important: Disable Windows Defender completely:
- On Windows 10/11/7, turn off Real-time Protection and other related security features.
Step 4: Install PADFLASHR Software
- Run the PADFLASHR software
- Enter your email and tool SN to register.
- After registration, restart the PADFLASHR Updater.
Step 5: Update Software
- Once the updater restarts, it will begin downloading update files.
- Wait for the download to complete.
- After the download finishes, restart the updater three times to finalize setup.
Step 6: Connect and Install Drivers
- Connect the PADFLASH ECU Programmer and dongle.
- Install the dongle driver when prompted.
- Then connect the tool and install the tool drivers.
⚠️ Important Setup Note
- Make sure the PADFLASHR Updater.exe is running.
- Go to the following directory:
C:\Windows\systembin\pdata - Find padflash.exe
- Right-click → Properties → Set to “Run as Administrator”
- Launch padflashr.exe as admin. A prompt will appear asking for your tool SN (in uppercase).
- Enter your serial number to log in.
Final Activation Steps
- Run padflashr_updater.exe, then click “Activate”.
(Do not run padflashr.exe directly from the desktop.) - A window will pop up asking for your tool serial number— enter it using capital letters.
- Once the software opens, click “Activate FW” to apply the firmware license to your tool.
Note: Every time you close the software, you must click “Activate FW” again. This ensures the tool firmware stays updated.
❗ Important Notes for Windows 10/11 Users
- You must fully disable Windows Defender and Real-Time Protection to allow the software and Padflash ECU tool to function properly.
- If the tool does not work correctly, or the software fails to run, your system may be missing necessary patches.
- In that case, please contact remote support to help refresh your Windows system.
