Issue Encountered:
A diagnostic reading was performed on a 2018 Renault Master (1.6L diesel, 95hp, EDC17C84 ECU) using a Magic Motorsport Flex ECU programmer via OBD. The reading process itself completed without error. However, after writing (flashing) the data back to the ECU, the vehicle would not start, exhibiting signs of an immobilizer-related fault.
Suggestion:
1.Disconnect the vehicle’s battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect it.
2.If the problem persists, lock the car and leave it unattended for a considerable duration to allow all electronic systems to enter a full standby/sleep state.
Final Resolution Path:
If the standard troubleshooting measures fail, the solution involved contacting Magic Motorsport (MMS) technical support to acquire a guaranteed original data backup from the ECU. This original data set (comprising both EEPROM and Flash memory contents) was then written back to the ECU using a direct bench programming setup, after which the vehicle started normally.
User feedback:
A user reports that his vehicle has been successfully restarted. The non-start condition was traced to a corrupted EEPROM, which was rectified using a diagnostic/repair tool from Magic Motorsport.
