OBDSTAR Update Locked Bosch MG1/MD1 ECU Read Write Unlock (Coming Soon)

Q1: Can MG1CS201 and MG1CS024 DMEs (B58/S58) be flashed with OTS tunes over OBD after unlocking?

A: OBD flashing is not supported. The current software version only enables lossless bench mode operations for unlocking, reading, and writing data.

Q2: Will OBDSTAR release a dedicated solder-free unlock adapter?

A: No. Lossless pinout-based unlocking is currently exclusive to BMW ECUs. Other brands and models still require opening the ECU cover and desoldering resistors. As a result, a universal solder-free adapter cannot be produced.

Q3: Is reading, writing, or unlocking supported for Indian-market MD1 TC375 ECUs?

A: Not at this time. Chip unlocking is currently limited to the MD1 and MG1 series equipped with TC298 and TC2989 processors.

Q4: Can post-June 2020 Bosch MD1 ECUs be unlocked for read/write access?

A: Yes. Most encrypted MD1 ECUs produced after June 2020 using TC29X series processors are supported (including MD1CS012 and MD1CS003). However, MD1CS016 units using the TC399 processor are not supported.

Q5: Does this unlock allow writing to sectors 1-3 or tuning via OBD tools like Bootmod3 (BM3) or MHD?

A: No. Writing to sectors 1, 2, and 3 is not supported. While the update provides a permanent unlock, reading and writing operations must be performed using OBDSTAR hardware.
