On the BMW INPA K+CAN adapter, you will find a small black switch shown as follows, about the switch: turn the switch to LEFT is to communicate with 7pin(k-line), and to RIGHT is to communicate with 8 pin(kline).
Open BMW INPA and you can find out the FT232RQ Chip on the PCB.
