How to use Launch X431 scanner to perform Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Maintenance mode on Honda HR-V 2022? Check the step-by-step guide below.
NOTE:
This guide applies to the Launch scanner which supports EPB reset/replace function, such as X431 V, V+, PAD VII, PRO5, X431 IMMO Plus, IMMO Elite, X431 PROS V1.0, PRO3S+ Pro3, X431 ProS Mini, CRP919X, etc.
Operation process:
Connect Launch X431 Tablet and vehicle
Select Local Diagnose>> Honda>> Honda software (i.e.V48.90)>> 16PIN DLC>> Region
Confirm the vehicle info identified
Scan the system and function
Go to system list, and enter ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System)
ABS control unit will quit communication above 50km/h (30mph). Click “OK” to continue.
Record the ECU ID which is useful for you to query the after-market service center.
Select Special Function
When executing the following functions, PHEV, FHEV and RLX Hybrid, vehicles must be put into maintenance mode for the engine to run.
Select Brake PAD Maintenance Mode
This function is used in Rear Brake PAD Maintenance. Please refer to the service manual for the work procedure.
Select Enter Brake PAD Maintenance Mode
Check the following conditions are fulfilled:
- Release the parking brake
- Stop the vehicle
- Battery voltage is over 10.0 (V)
Press OK to start the PAD Exchange mode
It will take about 25 seconds at the maximum.
Transition to PAD Exchange mode has been completed.
Perform Rear Brake PAD Maintenance.
When the PAD Maintenance is completed, you must return to the normal mode in order to return the PAD to the original position.
Proceed the rear brake pad replace…
Select Back To Normal Mode
Check if the following conditions are fulfilled:
- Release the parking brake
- Stop the vehicle
- Battery voltage is over 10.0 (V)
Return the PAD to the normal state
Wait a moment… it takes about 25 seconds at the maximum.
PAD was moved to its original position. This function procedure is finished.
Operate the Parking Brake on the vehicle…
Finally, read the fault code again, now there is no trouble code.
