How to do OBD Cable and Hardware Self-Test on Lonsdor K518 Pro? Check the detailed guide below.
If you want to check if your K518 Pro hardware or OBD cable is faulty, you can use the OBDII function to perform OBDII Hardware self-check or OBDII upgrade. Before operation, just connect the OBDII cable and 12V power supply to K518 Pro Key Programmer. Do not connect the other end of OBDII cable to the vehicle or any device. Otherwise it will fail to detect.
For example:
One customer connected the OBDII cable to both K518 Pro and his vehicle, so when he did the self-test, he got the error messages below:
- “Damage detected on the following pins: 1 2 3 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F”
- “OBD cable not inserted”
- “OBD cable not detected”
- “Damage detected on pin 11”

OBD Cable Self-Test Guide:
Select Immo & Remote>> OBDII>> OBDII upgrade>> OBDII upgrade
This function can update OBDII program.
Insert the OBD cable and 12V power supply into K518 Pro.
Detect OBDII info.
OBD upgrade operation is successful.
Hardware Self-Test Guide:
Select Immo & Remote>> OBDII>> OBDII Hardware self-check
This function need to connect the device to 12V power and make sure the device is well connected with OBD cable.
Just connect OBD cable to device, no need to connect it to vehicle OBD port.
Lonsdor K518 Pro Key Programmer OBD self-test is completed and the hardware function is normal.
