Review 1: Great Value
I downloaded the App from the Google Play and installed it on my iPhone SE. The download and install went perfectly.
The first test was on a 2013 Chevy Silverado pickup that had the Check Engine light on. I scanned the codes and the error was in the “Vapor Recovery System”.
The second test was on 2011 Mercedes GL350, it worked perfectly. I love the real-time logging feature so I can monitor Engine Oil Temp, Boost Pressure (absolute), Fuel Usage (GPH), Boost Air Temperature, and Atmospheric Pressure.
Review 2: It’s worth every penny
This thinkdiag kicks more ass than Chuck Norris in a room full of pedophiles. It’s not the fastest but it’s so convenient. I own a truck shop (light dusty diesel) mostly duramax, Cummins, Powerstroke. This will do cylinder contribution tests on all the engines it’s an option for, it has real time data logging. It even programs keys! 40$/year for each subscription is cheap compared to the Snapon or autel upfront costs. I’m this little thing and my iPhone XS Max do everything I need to do all the way down to commanding fuel pressure and cutting out injectors.
Review 3: Amazing Product for the Price
I bought the THINKDIAG on a whim. I noticed the references to the X431 – which is the diag tool I really wanted but don't have the nearly $1100 to buy it. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the product. It has all the power of the Launch X431 V (code reader, OBD II standard reader, Extended OBD II reader, bi-directional support, it's ALL there. Want to test your A/C clutch you can activate it. Want to test the rear right brake function, it's in there. Bleed the ABS system… it's there. Replace/recode the fuel injectors, done. Replace and recalibrate the crankshaft position sensor, also there.
All of the “Reset Functionality” is located under the “Special Functions” section for your automobile. If you want, say, Gear Reset for EVERY auto you can buy that separately under the Maintenance Functions section. All of the bi-directional control is located under the Actuation Test area. This really does have the same power as the Launch X431V/V+. It just doesn't come with the tablet. 🙂
Graphic (combined and single) is great. I did a 45-minute recording of all ECM stats and was able to play it back and graph it in different ways/combinations in order to work through an injector problem. This allowed me to review data, slowly and truly determine what was wrong, and where.
The only thing I'm a bit skeptical of is the fact that this kind of power resides on a cell phone which is on an open network, with bluetooth. That said, I live 35 miles out of town on a small acreage, so I don't worry about that much. That is what separates the Launch X431 platform from this. That said, I DO NOT regret buying this product. It's helped me achieve the goal of owning the high-end Launch-like product at 1/10 the cost.
