Question:
I tried using Xhorse Multi–Prog to read the Renault Continental ECU SID309, but it failed. The error message displayed was: “PFLASH unprotection failed” and “Connection failed”.
Solution:
Currently, Multi Prog does not support this ECU model.
The Renault SID307, SID309, and SID310 ECUs have Tprot (tuning protection) passwords active. If the password cannot be retrieved via OBD, you won’t be able to access the ECU in boot mode.
You’d better use the following tools to read the Renault SID309 ECU successfully.
- Foxflash/Flex: Reliable in boot mode.
- PCMFlash: Safe for use via OBD.
- Autotuner/Flex/x17/Kess3: Capable of reading the full flash and EEPROM through OBD.
