KTAG programs TRICORE Protected Vauxhall Insignia BOSCH EDC17C19 ECU

Eobdtool.co.uk share how to use KTAG to program TRICORE Protected Vauxhall Insignia BOSCH EDC17C19 ECU.

Tools to use

Ktag China clone

LED BDM Frame with 4 Probes

Normal Screwdriver

Procedure:

Today we've got a 2009 box of insignia 2-liter CDTI. The only option is the Ktag. It needs to remove the ECU.

Just pull up this black case in both sides.

When you do disconnect the battery, make sure you use a memory saver to save radio codes, alarm settings, personalized settings and remote locking codes.

So let's see you see I just take extra care when you taking the black connector off, the actual ECU block collectors these parts, when you take them plugs out make sure they're fully open before you pull them out as you can damage the pins on here which of course none in issues. Once you've got these you are always give a visual inspection to the actual pins, make sure none of them have been bent.

So we're going to take this to the bench now. Take it out of the last bit of case in. Open it up and get on key type to program it.

So this is all out now, the next step is to take these screws out around the edge.

It was recommended to sort of using a normal screwdriver.

Once you've got the screws out from around the edge, the next step will be to put in the extractor bolts. Heat up the perimeter of the ECU, once that's heated enough, tighten up the extractor bolts around the edge and basically that will lift up the lid and cut away the glue.

Check out the video about ECU opening for the craps eager to fully get this lid off. It's morale could them people think.

So we've got the extractor bolts around the edge, overheated or heated up this section as well.

So as you tighten up the bolts.

If you don't tighten up then put more heat in basically.

So you can see you got a gap. You can heat it up a bit more. Turn the power the screwdriver up and run it through again. The other option you've got is you could have brake cleaner into here.

We don't really recommend it as it may cause damage to the actual circuit board inside, if you do use brake cleaner, be sure to use electrical contact cleaner an ECU safe cleaner that will clean away the residue of the brake cleaner to ensure that it's not causing any damage to the actual circuit board.

I've done all the connection with an Ktag ECU programmer, let's see clearly.

Go that you boot in and the pin out.

Just read enough now.

So we've finished the program and now that's all been programmed to our first stage one remap.

It's a case of disconnecting.

Reglue in the parameter and resealing and fitting it back to the car.
