BMW CAS 3 Remote Key Programming with VVDI2 via OBD

This post comes with the guide to program BMW CAS 3 remote key using Xhorse VVDI2 by OBD cable.

Preparation:
VVDI2 key programmer
Original BMW key
BMW CAS3 remote key (3 buttons 868 MHz PCF7945 Transponder)
PC

Step-by-step guide:
1.Connect VVDI2 programmer with the vehicle via OBD cable, and connect to PC via USB cable

2.Run VVDI2 software
3.Enter “BMW” menu

4.Select “Auto detect” and click “Connect”
Detect out the CAS ID, CAS type, all key info, remote control frequency and current key position

5.Click “Get Key Info” and select “Add key”
Note: Make sure to insert a working key into ignition and connect device with the car before continuing.
Then click “Next”

6.Pay attention to the prompt:
The dealer key should be taken away from ignition switch. If key is keyless, please move it out of car. If there’s no key in ignition, continue anyway.
Press “OK” to continue.

7.Use “Save key info” to save the original key info

8.Click “Prepare dealer key with programmer” and put a new key into VVDI2 programmer coil

9.The new key doesn’t have keyless, so click “No” to continue when it prompts.
10.Key make ok and locked

Finally, use it to start the car and test the remote

Tips:
If cannot start engine, use “Add Key” function to add the dealer key to CAS system.
If key can start engine, but keyless doesn’t work, use “Repair Keyless key” function.
