Tutorial:
How to use Launch X431 ECU & TCU Programmer to clone Volkswagen MG1CA811 ECU on bench?
Volkswagen ECU Info:
Car model: Skoda Febia 2006-2020
Engine: DFNB 998 67
ECU: MG1CA811 SPC58
Device:
Launch X431 ECU Programmer or Launch X431 X-Prog3 with PC Adapter
Wiring diagram:
Device connection:
Connect X431 ECU programmer to a PC via USB cable
Connect the programmer and PIN 1, 5, 9, 6, 10 of MG1CA811 ECU via the BENCH mode line
Also supply power to the device
(For X431 X-PROG3 PC Adapter, need to connect with Launch GIII key programmer)
ECU Clone steps:
Step 1: Backup Original MG1CA811 ECU EEPROM & FLASH Data
Step 2: Backup New MG1CA811 ECU EEPROM & FLASH Data
Step 3: Write Original MG1CA811 ECU Data to New ECU
In detail…
Step 1: Backup Original MG1CA811 ECU EEPROM & FLASH Data
Open X431 ECU & TCU Programmer software/X-PROG3 PC Adaptor PC Software
Search keyword MG1CA811 to quickly find the ECU model
Enter the main operation page to start the clone process
Connect>> Read EEPROM data>> Read FLASH data>> Disconnect
Save the data after reading separately
Step 2: Backup New MG1CA811 ECU EEPROM & FLASH Data
Connect X-431 ECU & TCU Programmer/X431 PC Adapter to a new MG1CA811 ECU
Repeat the same steps as step 1 to connect ECU, read and save new EEPROM and Flash data in sequence
Step 3: Write Original MG1CA811 ECU Data to New ECU
Select the EEPROM and Flash data of the original MG1CA811 ECU and write them into the new one respectively.
Disconnect after data writing is completed.
Done!
