OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 paired with the RH850/V850 Adapter Kit offers advanced key programming capabilities (new key adding+ all keys lost) for Volkswagen MQB48-5A, Ford/Lincoln 2021-, Nissan, Renault, and FCA vehicles (upcoming upgrade). How to program key? Check the operation guide below.
Example: 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan (MQB48-5A) – All Keys Lost (AKL) Key Programming by OBDSTAR G3
OBDSTAR RH850/V850 Adapter Review:
Requirements:
1.All tools required
OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 Key Programmer
OBDSTAR RH850/V850 Adapter Full Kit
- C4-06 Adapter
- C4-06 C02 Decryption Board
- ELV Data Collector-MQB Collector
- ECM Dedicated Cable (ECM-001)
- TCM Dedicated Cable (TCM-Kit1)
Note: These tools enable fast and accurate data retrieval from the vehicle’s control modules.
- This function requires an internet connection. Ensure the network connection is normal.
Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Read IMMO Module Data
- Read Dashboard IMMO Data
- Read ECM IMMO Data
- ReadTCM IMMO Data
- Read ELV IMMO Data
Step 2: Calculate Synchronization Code
Step 3: Make Dealer Key
Step 4: Program Keys
Step 5: Verify IMMO State
First, identify vehicle info before performing the related process.
Connect the X300 Classic G3 to the vehicle’s OBD port.
Select IMMO-> VW/AUDI/SKODA/SEAT-> VW/AUDI/SKODA/SEAT V45.48
Select MANUAL SELECT MODEL or MANUAL SELECT SYSTEM
e.g. Select MANUAL SELECT SYSTEM-> VW-> MQB METER
If connected to the vehicle via OBD, the system can directly identify whether it is type 5A or 5C.
Select [MQB48-5A/MQB49-5C Detect] option, then press the ignition to power on the dashboard
Identify the system is a 5A type.
Next, select [All keys lost], and you can see the main steps.
Step 1: Read IMMO Module Data
Since this is a proximity key system, IMMO data must be collected from four modules:
- Dashboard
- ECM (Engine Control Module)
- TCM (Transmission Control Module)
- ELV (Electric Steering Lock)
1.Read Dashboard IMMO Data
Disassemble the dashboard to access the R7F70147 MCU.
Solder the decryption wires to the dashboard’s PCB using the C4-06 C02 decryption board (ensure no shortcuts)
Connect the MP001 Programmer and read the dashboard’s flash and EEPROM data.
Parse the Data: The system will extract the CS code for the dashboard.
- Read ECM IMMO Data
Identify the ECM Model: MED 17.5.25
Connect via ECM-001 dedicated cable (or jumper wires)
Read EPROM & Flash data, then parse to obtain the CS code.
- ReadTCM IMMO Data
Identify the TCM Model: DQ380DE.
Connect using the P004 Adapter (DQ380 Cable)
The system will read the data and generate the TCM IMMO data file.
- Read ELV IMMO Data
Method 1: Read IMMO Data by RH850/V850 Adapter
If you do not have the ELV data collector, you can use this method to read IMMO data by RH850/V850 Adapter (require soldering wires)
Method 2: Collect ELV Authentication Data and Calculate IMMO Data
If you have the collector cable, just plug it directly to the OBD port and the dashboard connector. The server calculates the ELV authentication data.
e.g. Use method 2
Connect the ELV Data Collector: Plug it into the OBD port and connect the dashboard connector.
Collect Authentication Data: The ELV IMMO data is calculated directly through the server.
Important Note:
If any module (Dashboard, ECM, TCM, or ELV) is non-original (replaced without dealer programming or IMMO OFF), the system will fail to calculate ELV IMMO data.
Step 2: Calculate Synchronization Code
Load the collected Dashboard, ECM, TCM, and ELV IMMO data.
The tool calculates the sync code (VIN-based).
Verify all data before proceeding.
Step 3: Make Dealer Key
Load the dashboard IMMO data+ synch data.
Place the blank key into the key sensing coil and select Make Dealer Key.
The vehicle will recognize the key upon completion.
Step 4: Program Keys
Reconnect the X300 Classic G3 Key Programmer to the OBD port.
Select “Program Keys” and upload the dashboard IMMO data.
Place the key near the induction coil and press the ignition.
Dashboard confirmation: key status change (e.g., 0 to 1)
Step 5: Verify IMMO State
After programming with OBDSTAR G3, turn on the ignition and check:
- Number of keys presented value
- Dealer Key Status
- Locked Key Status
- Learned Key Status
In the end, test the remote functions (lock/unlock) of original and new programmed key to ensure full operation.
Done!
