If your Autel scanner subscription is expiring soon, what should you do preparing for the license expiry? It’s not cheap for Autel software update subscriptions. Here is a tip to save money if you don’t plan to renew your subscription- Back up Scan folder.
Go to [Update] on the main menu, and you can see the expiration date and one year subscription update fee (around $600)
Click [More] in the Application Updates function
Click [Get] to download the newest car software
After being installed successfully, it’s important to create a backup.
Use a 32GB Micro SD card or SAMSUNG 64GB USB driver and insert it into your Autel scan tool
Click the Home button to open the base screen (not the diagnostic application)
Open your ES file explorer
Select the right capacity for your backup driver
You can go by the ROM size of your Autel diagnostic tool. If your ROM is 64GB, get a 64GB driver.
Now let’s create the backup on the home screen.
Scroll download to find the [Scan] folder in the internal sd
Long press it, click copy and paste it to your external backup driver
The backup time depends on your file size. Just keep patient until the procedure is completed.
Once this is done, remove the SD card and store it somewhere safe where it will not be damaged.

Just set an alarm two days or so prior to your license expiration and just go through this procedure to backup file. If you don’t create a backup and your scanner ever gets corrupt, you will most likely pay an annual license in order to get all your updates and files back.
