Problem:
When trying to read a GM 6T75 gearbox TCM on the bench using OBDSTAR DC706 ECU Tool and the TCM-020 solderless connector, you might encounter an error.
The software will show a “No response from ECU” message and prompt you to bridge a 120-ohm resistor.
The Solution
You do not need to add or bridge a 120-ohm resistor if you are already using the solder-free TCU adapters.
Instead, simply follow this quick fix on your hardware setup:
Locate OBDSTAR P004 adapter.
Find the small dip switches on the adapter.
Flip Switch 1 and Switch 2 to the “ON” position.
Once both switches are turned on, DC706 will successfully communicate with the TCU, and you can proceed with reading the data normally!
